• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine: Kansas State University, 1992
• Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery: Texas A&M University, 1992-1993
• Residency in Small Animal Surgery: University of Tennessee, 1993-1996

In his free time, Dr. Wilkens enjoys hiking, camping, kayak fishing, geocaching, and dutch oven cooking. He and his wife stay busy attending their children’s soccer and basketball games. He also enjoys traveling and exploring with his family and their two spoiled Retrievers. Dr. Wilkens is an active member and elder of Grace Bible Fellowship Church avid supporter of the Kansas State University Wildcats and the University of Tennessee Volunteers.
